Happily Ever Funky...

The Couple:Claire & Dave
We can’t lie, these two had us a bit concerned. It’s a bit tricky trying to plan a wedding with clients that live out of state. We were able to meet up at least once and they were so fun! Their tastes were more old school funk than the usual Top 40. This was a celebration primarily for Claire’s family with another one to follow back home for Dave’s family. They were both such good-hearted people!

The Venue:
The Barn at The WaterTower Winery
in beautiful Sainte Genevieve. We have been out here a time or two and Brad, the owner, is super nice! The staff is very accommodating too. Fairy lighting is included so decorating could really be minimal if you choose. It has a nice size stage and a rustic vaulted ceiling over the center area. It is also extremely easy to find for those coming in from out of town.
The Vendors:
We promised to do better with getting more details about our fellow wedding vendors. So this wedding we do have more vendor info for you
Claire looked absolutely stunning in her slim line halter from BHLDN. This shop is located in DC, as well as other cities, fyi.
Claire’s bouquet was created by Treasured Memories
in Ste. Genevieve.
Hair by Amber at Le Techniques, also in Ste Genevieve.
Kassie Wolk
Photography was capturing the moments and very easy to work with!
And last, but not least, our caterers! The Kozy Catering
team was led by Kyle. We have worked weddings together previously and it’s always nice to see a familiar face! They dismissed tables, super classy! The food was amazing and the staff very professional! The Kozy is located in Bloomsdale right across the street from the Dew Drop Inn.
The Details:
This wedding was truly representative of our newlyweds. The Chinese lanterns paid homage to Dave’s roots, being born in Taiwan. The tables were dressed with whit linens, red cloth napkins, and square white china plates. Claire & Dave love our environment and it showed. No cups, plates, or napkins to the landfill from this shindig! Dave’s dance with his aunt was a special cultural dance that must be seen to be appreciated.
The Party:
Entrance song for the bride & groom was No Diggity by Blackstreet. This was a fairly small reception, mostly just family and almost all from just one side. Our playlist was designed to be FUNKY! With James Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire, and some Bell Biv Devoe, this crowd danced all night as we dropped our fun mix of that funk on them! Shifting gears to close out the night with The Party’s Over by Willie
Nelson. What a cool party! We were truly loving in the moment during dancing, no action photos. I was wrapped up in my mixing!
