The Couple: Alex & David

These are two young people that not only have it together, but are also warm, friendly, and totally down-to-earth! We were honored to be part of their celebration, as were all their guests. This wasn’t the type of event that guests attended “out of obligation” and you could tell. I’ve never seen newlyweds mingle more than these two!

The Venue:

The Grand Ballroom at Alexander’s. It is located inside The Factory in Farmington and is THE premiere “vintage venue” in St. Francois County. It truly is our local historic gem with an ambience that is unmatched in its field. The owners are great people and have done some updates to make it even better too! It was decorated absolutely beautifully!

The Vendors:

We haven’t perfected our system of getting all the info on all the vendors, but we were all on the same team, #TeamBride!
We were ecstatic to have the opportunity to work alongside KC Photography again.
You know the food will be amazing when Sugarfire shows up!
Butterfield’s did a stellar job on those gorgeous bouquets!
Lauren Lewis did a fantastic job on the makeup for Alex and the ladies.
We didn’t find out who did the cake or where the dress came from...sorry. But they were both incredible!
We will try to credit other vendors more thoroughly in future blogs entries.

The Details:

We loved the fresh take on Guest Book alternative and the succulent favors, so cute! The Candy Bar & Doughnut Wall were perfectly incorporated together. The Selfie Station was gorgeous! This is a perfect example of how to do a selfie station right. The white linens and pink napkin roses were to die for!

The Party:

We started things by bringing in the Wedding Party to a custom Justin Timberlake mix. We were setup on the west side of the room with a speaker ran wirelessly on each end of the head table. This really filled the room perfectly with sound, allowing everyone to hear the cocktail hour and dinner music, but without blasting out those seated closest to the speakers. This speaker arrangement also ensured that everyone in the room could hear every word of the toasts. The crowd loved our new lighting, providing a soft wash across the dance floor as they got down to a healthy mix of rock, country, and top 40, with the obligatory line dances thrown in too! We ended the night with a couple of sing alongs and a good time was certainly had by all! Such a great crowd!

Brides across the country, and world even, cry out "This can't be happening!" I have been in the wedding industry since 2001 and thought that I'd seen it all. Then the Corona Virus showed up. This changed so much for so many and it isn't even over yet. With almost everything in the country being cancelled or postponed, it doesn't come as any surprise that weddings are facing the same thing. This is terrible. My heart breaks for the brides-to-be that are forced to deal with this nightmare. WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER.

We can’t lie, these two had us a bit concerned. It’s a bit tricky trying to plan a wedding with clients that live out of state. We were able to meet up at least once and they were so fun! Their tastes were more old school funk than the usual Top 40. This was a celebration primarily for Claire’s family with another one to follow back home for Dave’s family. They were both such good-hearted people!

Every couple has their own unique tastes and vision. With Abbie & Bryant, they wanted rustic indie folk. In creating their playlists, we sought out plenty of music that was new to us, some truly lovely songs! We don’t claim to be experts in every genre, but we love broadening our horizons as we discover new music. Back to Abbie & Bryant, they are really a cool young couple, classy & chic!

We love doing school dances! We were thrilled to get the opportunity to celebrate this year’s Homecoming with CCHS. One of the amazing things about the youth of today is their love of diversity! These young men & women danced all night to a live mix of today’s hottest hits, old school classics and even 80’s rock! The surprise hit of the night? Dixieland Delight by Alabama! The crowd went crazy when they heard this country anthem! Here at Gold Star DJ, we love sharing photos from our events so you can see the smiling faces and the lively dance floors. Photos & video from our events make for great promotional material for blogs like this. However, we do not take any photo or video recordings at any school dance or teen event. We value the trust you put in us to entertain your children and students and we respect the privacy rights of these minors. The following photos were provided courtesy of the CCHS Yearbook Staff and are used with permission. We did take the picture of the awesome Photo Bus! http://www.thephotobusstl.com/

Brittany & Brenden are such a sweet couple! They had always dreamed of an outdoor wedding and we were honored to be invited to this dream! Surrounded by their family and friends, Brittany’s laugh and Brenden‘s honest smile were not just expressions of love, but the pure joy of starting a life with their best friend.
